Our Doctors
– Meet Our Physicians

Why eat at
home when you can have a professionally-trained sous chef prepare your
breakfast?
At Seven
Rivers RMC, physicians can look forward to being supported and appreciated
by all of us. Little conveniences, like new furniture and a spacious
physician lounge, and a sous chef each morning to prepare breakfast, are
little details that show that we strive to provide our doctors “a great
place to practice.” We’re a reflection of a community that
still brings their physicians baked goods and treats as “thank you” gifts
for helping a family member.
A county
that offers a relaxed “Nature Coast” lifestyle, where your house is not
just affordable but a great investment, no state income tax, and starting
your practice that is certain to grow, are hallmarks for “Seven Rivers
physicians.” The quality of life in our area is remarkable for
singles and families. We truly hope that circumstances allow for you to
consider a long-term relationship with us!

Physicians Considering a Practice Opportunity With Us:

“We invested in this virtual presentation so you can imagine life and work
here vs. mailing brochures or asking you to do the research yourself by
referring you to unrelated websites that aren’t designed for jobseekers.
Streaming videos are don’t provide the in-depth information jobseekers
truly need and they get old so you can't rely on their authenticity.
Soon you will have a growing practice and look to us to use the best
possible tools to recruit partners to join you. I don’t want you to
miss out on the best candidates who passed because of a misunderstanding,
or due to advertising that doesn’t give the details or show the real
spirit of our community. This presentation symbolizes our commitment to
help grow your practice!” Joyce Brancato, CEO (with
Assistant Susan)

“We continue to
expand our practice and the technology, constantly upgrading our
equipment to provide state-of-the-art therapy.”
Charles Joseph "Joey
" Bennett, MD
Oncologist
Robert Boissoneault Oncology Institute
(Dr. Bennett
is in back, center, with his staff)
Dr. Bennett chose to
begin his career with us in 1993 after his residency at the University
of Florida – Shands, after considering Sarasota, and Gainesville. He
was raised in Arkansas
and went to medical school at the University of Arkansas. Not only
has he become one of the most popular physicians in Citrus County, based
on his relationship with our community, we feel comfortable saying that
he made the right choice!
Dr. Bennett and his
wife Sandy have 2 daughters, Chelsea, 15 and Sydney, 13, who attend
Academy of Health Careers and
Crystal River Middle School,
respectively. Sandy is a stay-at-home mom whom he says
“works harder than
I do with our children and their activities.” The girls are very active
in school activities playing golf, tennis, basketball, track,
and volleyball. Both are honor students
and
are selected to participate in the
Florida State Science
Fair each year they have
entered a project.
“The family
atmosphere is great, and the activities are numerous, without the crowds
of the big city, and we are only an hour from Tampa, Orlando, and
Gainesville. I cannot think of a better place to live and raise a
family, and there are lots of safe, healthy, fun, activities to
participate in year-round. I golf, fish, water ski, and hunt.”

“I have a lot of
memories since I grew up here, memories of school, college, and old
friends. My parents and brothers are still living in Citrus County.”
Scott J. Redrick, MD
Obstetrics & Gynecology
Suncoast Obstetrics & Gynecology
Although Dr. Redrick was born in
California, he was raised through his
adolescence in Citrus County, and after his residency and
medical training at the University of Florida, he established his
practice here in 1996 after a short time in training in Sandersville,
GA, outside of Macon. His focus is “treating gynecological
urological disorders and performing procedures that help rejuvenate proper functions.”
Dr. Redrick and his
wife Margarita, a native of Venezuela, have four kids: Elisa, Hayley,
Buck and Gabby, to keep them busy.
“This is a quieter
place where you can enjoy nice landscapes and outside activities such
as: boating, scuba diving, swimming. The kids love it here. When I am
not working, I spend time with my wife, going to museums, nice
restaurants, traveling and going to new places. My favorite hobby is
flying airplanes. Considering this county as a medium size community,
we have equipment, technology and resources to provide a good healthcare
service to our community.”

“My wife and I chose
Crystal River because we love being close to the water, and it has
excellent school system. In 1978, Seven Rivers was a new hospital and it
was a perfect match for us. We’ve been here ever since.”
Juanito Taboada,
MD
General Surgery
(with Donna, office manager)
Dr. Taboada, and his
wife Viola, a psychiatrist, decided after 2 years in retirement
traveling the world, that Crystal River is the best place on earth. He
also missed his active practice, so he returned. They raised 3 children
through the public schools, and all are successful in business as a
financial analyst, manager of an investment firm, and a business owner.
Life outside work involves their favorite activity: being on the water.
His favorite aspect of
practicing is what he missed:
“The patients are
very appreciative of what you have done to help them and the hospital
along with the staff is an excellent place to practice my specialty,
which makes my work very rewarding.
I have so many
hobbies. I like woodworking, welding, building stuff that I need for my
boat – I also like to work with my tractor moving dirt here and there
clearing my property, and most of all I enjoy boating and fishing.”

Carlene Wilson,
MD
Internal Medicine
Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Wellness Center
Dr. Wilson joined our
community in 2005 from a Hospitalist position with a multi-specialty
practice in Anderson, SC, and chose Crystal River over Fort Myers and
Niceville, FL, which is on the Florida panhandle. She has been
practicing since 1995 after being the Chief Resident at Yale University
Bridgeport Hospital, where she won her class award for compassionate
patient care, as well as the hospital’s Emergency
Department award for best physician.
Dr. Wilson grew up
in Jamaica and wanted to be
a doctor from an early age watching American television shows about
physicians and the impact they were portrayed to have on the lives of
others. Her practice is designed to treat the entire family, as well as
focus on a holistic approach to good health by also promoting alternative
treatments, such as, in certain cases, perhaps referring someone in
chronic pain to acupuncture or massage therapy as a long-term
cure prior to considering traditional medicine. She and her
husband Charles, a computer professional who is managing the practice,
have 2 children..
“I fancy myself as a
cook and vegetable gardener, but my favorite activity is just playing
with my husband and kids. We received a warm reception from the
community when I started here, especially from the folks at Seven Rivers
RMC – that’s my best memory of here so far.”

“I like the peace
and quiet of a smaller town atmosphere with easy access to major
cities.”
Raj Bellam,
MD
Internal Medicine
Chief of Staff
Bellam Medical Clinic
(on
right, with Dr. Ulhas Deven, Barbara and Tracy,
RNs)
Dr. Bellam has been in
Citrus County since 1993 from West
Virginia. A naturalized US citizen by way of India, Dr.
Bellam completed his residency at St. Joseph’s Episcopal Hospital in
Brooklyn, NY. He is also board-certified in emergency medicine.
Dr. Bellam’s wife Radha
is his office manager, and their 2 children are currently in college –
they both graduated from Crystal River High School with honors and
played tennis. Dr. and Mrs. Bellam enjoy playing golf and tennis at
their club, and entertaining friends.
“I have traveled to
many places abroad and in the US. Driving here is easy and crime
is very low. This area has lots of fun, and we enjoy a practice whose
patient base
keeps growing.”

Life on Florida’s Nature Coast includes amazing outdoor fun, our campus
is expanding, new retail centers are around us, and we have unique
school options for families. We invite you and your family to join us
at Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center!
